CARNEGIE HILL

Fifth Avenue to Third Avenue, 86th Street to 96th Street
Prewar apartment buildings, 19th century townhouses and gracious mansions, intertwined with mom-and-pop shops and restaurants, give the neighborhood a real old-fashioned feel. While quiet and family-oriented, Carnegie Hill is home to many private schools, the Guggenheim Museum, the Jewish Museum, the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum, the Central Park Reservoir, and the Andrew Carnegie Mansion that gives the neighborhood its name.
